Sexually transmitted disease Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) is re-emerging in the gay community, particularly among HIV infected. LGV is caused by Chlamydia trachomatis L1, L2 and L3 serotypes. The standard treatment of LGV is Doxycycline.  Resistence is now emerging to doxycycline.  Moxifloxacin is an effective alternative in cases of doxycycline failure.
